Structure your workflow

One of the key issues faced by freelancers is that you feel that you are always working, that you can't afford to take any time off or not be on call, because you might lose your clients to someone else. This is totally understandable but it is unsustainable. Even though you are no longer working nine-to-five in an office, it is important that you set yourself some hours of work. You need to discipline yourself to know when you are starting work, when you are finishing work, when you are taking a break, and when you are taking some time off. That doesn't mean that you have to work nine-to-five - you can give yourself as much flexibility as you or your clients' needs. For example, if you are a personal trainer who starts training your first client at 6 AM, then you need to make sure that you are taking a break at some point during the day, and not just working solidly through until you finish training your last client at 9 PM.
